HEAVY rain is a major factor that led the Lami Volleyball Association into near doldrum for more than a year.
With weekly competitions being disrupted because of the rainy weather, the association is now looking for alternative measures to revive the sport within the area. Lami usually plays its club competition at a grass court in Wailekutu.
And former president Tepau Rota is looking for sponsors to assist in the building of a new multipurpose court to overcome the problem.
"Rain usually cancels our weekly club games because we do not have a proper court. Our grass court is not in playable condition nearly every week because of the rain so we have no choice but to cancel games which has led to the deformation of the association," Rota said.
