THE gun shots people near the Vatuwaqa Rifle Range will hear tomorrow is just a firing exercise by the Fiji Police Force.

Spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said those living near Vatuwaqa Rifle Range should not be alarmed when they hear shots being fired.

"This is part of the ongoing United Nations Selection Assessment Assistant Team (UNSAAT) tests," she said.

"This is expected to begin from Monday morning at 7am to 6pm. As such people are being advised to refrain from going near the area during this period," Ms Naisoro said.

The firing exercise is the last phase of a week-long test for 100 police officers from around the country who have passed the first few phases including written tests, interviews, driving and fitness tests.
