MERE Matanatabu will feature in the final of the D grade competition during the P Kumar Electrical and All Engineering-sponsored Lautoka Open Squash Championship at the Northern Club today.
Mere showed her class by winning two straight matches in the lower division.
She defeated Sanjay Prasad and Melinda Joy 3-0 on her way to earn a final's ticket.
The top seeds are expected to battle during the A grade semi-finals.
Defending champion Justin Ho, former Fiji number one Warren Yee, Marika Matanatabu and Romit Meghji are the favourites in the A grade.
Tournament controller Eremasi Matanatabu said only the finals of the C grade had been decided.
"Leading the D grade is Mere Matanatabu who has made it into the final and will play the winner of Lisa Roxburgh and Kelvin Nair," Eremasi said.
"The C grade final will be played between Joshua Young and James Shannon. The B grade is still wide open at the moment with Tarunesh Reddy and Mafi Tupou already booking a place in the semi-finals."
"The tournament has drawn 43 entrants which includes players travelling from as far as Suva and Nadi."
The finals are expected to start at 5pm.
