POLICE are still investigating the death of a 33-year-old Bangladesh citizen who died on Wednesday morning while being detained at the Dominion Detention Centre in Suva.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said they were waiting for further directions from relevant authorities before a post-mortem examination was carried out.
The deceased, Mamtazul Hoque, was detained by immigration authorities on August 28 for violating the terms of his student visa and was due to be deported to Bangladesh this week.
Mr Hoque had been in the country since 2009 on a student visa to undertake studies at the Fiji National University.
