ABOUT 50 men of Indian descent from the province of Bua are engaged in a workshop aimed at eliminating violence against women and girls.

The workshop, conducted by the Fiji Women's Crisis Centre, is held in the district of Lekutu.

It is the first kind of workshop facilitated by the FWCC in Bua.

FWCC co-ordinator Shamima Ali said for the first time, the workshop would be conducted in the Hindi language.

"The training is a part of FWCC's greater strategy of engaging men through their Male Advocacy on Women's Human Rights Program," Ms Ali said. She said the workshop would challenge participants to examine and change their behaviour and attitudes.
