The new transition

GAS cars are becoming popular for family use, Sakura Carz chief executive officer Irshad Jan said.

This marks a transition from the initial use of LPG cars as taxis, he said.

Built for Fiji's roads and for commercial use, the cars are selling from $14,000 to $22,000, Mr Jan said adding that a 15 per cent deposit of the total sum is required.

He said the company offers eight per cent interest and allows trade-in.

"Compared to diesel cars, LPG cars are doing their bit for the environment emitting less pollution by 90 per cent," Mr Jan said.
