Elenoa Baselala introduces some of those who have taken up new appointments to drive the performance of the companies they work for.
CPA Fiji Branch
THE Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Fiji Branch has appointed Ravendran Achari, the chief financial officer of ANZ Pacific Central Region as its new president.
Mr Achari joined ANZ in January last year and has been a council member of the CPA-Fiji Branch for the past four years.
He started his career at the Office of the Auditor General in 2000 as an auditor and moved to Williams and Gosling Ltd where he was the chief financial officer and company secretary before moving to ANZ.
Mr Achari won the Fiji Institute of Accountants Young Chartered Accountant of the Year in 2007 .
Other appointments made at the CPA Fiji Branch Annual General meeting during the 2012 CPA Congress were Shaneel Nandan, a director at Ernst & Young who was appointed vice president. Nouzab Fareed, the acting chief executive of the Fijian Holdings Group was appointed to the council.
Fijian Holdings Limited
The company has announced the appointment of Aseri Radrodro as a director. Mr Radrodro was appointed by the Minister of iTaukei Affairs.
He holds a degree in accounting and finance management and a master of business administration from the University of the South Pacific.
Mr Radrodro is a member of the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants as well as the Fiji Institute of Internal Auditors.
"He has diverse financial, operational and management skills having held executive positions in National Fire Authority, Land transport Authority, Fexco Fiji Limited, Fiji Sports Council and the Fiji Ships and Heavy Industries," a statement from the company said.
Chairman of FHL, Iowane Naiveli said: "We look forward to his positive contribution since Mr Radrodro's experience will complement the mix of skills and experience of the current board members."
The FHL board members are Mr Naiveli, Apakuki Kurusiga, Padam Lala, Ulaiyasi Baya, Viliame Gavoka, Mere Samisoni, Filimoni Waqabaca, Ratu Samuela Nawalowalo and Mr Radrodro.
