DIRECTOR Local Government Josese Rakuita is satisfied with how development work has progressed so far in the north under the Local Government Ministry.
Currently on an inspection tour of Labasa and Savusavu, Mr Rakuita said the work inspected so far had been satisfactory.
"I am happy with the development work and plans earmarked for the two towns.
"It is good that work has started with the improvement of road conditions," he said.
"There are a lot of development plans that exist for the two towns and that include the bus stand relocation in Labasa Town."
Mr Rakuita said funding for some projects had been made available by donors.
"We are fortunate to have the support of the donors and we are also working on private partnership for development purposes.
"Labasa and Savusavu towns are the first to be inspected.
"We have come first to the towns in the North for inspection and will move to Viti Levu soon."
