THE University of Fiji celebrated a milestone on Friday last week when its first batch of lawyers were admitted to the Bar in a solemn ceremony at the High Court in Suva.
Speaking to the new lawyers, Chief Justice Anthony Gates said as newcomers to the legal fraternity, the graduates were expected to demonstrate that they had nothing lacking in skills and knowledge.
"I know that you have all worked very hard and shown enthusiasm as pioneers," Chief Justice Gates said. "The university, the honorary dean, the lecturers and staff all are to be congratulated for having advised and directed you to this final goal."
