TAUKEI Namara Ratu Peni Vukicanavanua has urged the people of Macuata to pledge their support to government.

Visiting The Fiji Times office in Labasa yesterday, Ratu Peni said it was about time people of Caumatalevu supported government because it had accomplished many developments in the province since 2006.

"This government has provided free bus fare vouchers for our school children, improve infrastructure and most people who were deprived of proper water supply have finally receive aid," he said.

"There are more development plans tabled out for the province and I believe it's only best we put our differences aside and support government."

Ratu Peni said he would request if the Bainimarama government continued to lead the nation for the betterment of its people.

"Most of my people had requested for proper water assistance, electrification supply and good road conditions in the past and nothing was done for them but now they have been assisted," he said.

"I am not only urging the people of Macuata but every Fijian in the country to support the government of the day because it has helped us a lot."
