One night of non-stop, back to back performances with sound, light and performances that will take your breath away. That's what this year's Tadra Kahani show promises you! Kaila's RUBY TAYLOR-NEWTON spoke to Manager Total Event Company LORETTA JACKSON on the latest updates.
Kaila! How is the show coming along at this stage from your perspective?
Loretta: The next two weeks is intense not only for those of us working behind the scenes preparing for the event but also for the 1400 performers and teachers who are working on their productions; music, choreography, lighting plans, sets and backdrops. From our regular visits to schools, everyone is very much on track and it is encouraging to see such excitement from the performers.
Kaila! What can we expect from the shows that will be put on by the schools?
Loretta: What you can expect is international standard performances from each of the 14 schools. With the biggest stage show stage, huge sound and stage lighting combined and 50-80 performers on stage at one time performing a choreographed drama to music will be intense and exhilarating to watch.
Kaila! How has Tadra Kahani developed over the years and what changes have you seen this far in terms of development, skills, the displaying and grasping of themes and messages from students and the public at large?
Loretta: Each year brings new elements to performances because the performers have learnt even more from the previous years. With access to the latest music videos, movies and internet, performers have many resources for finding concepts and ideas that they can use to enhance their performances. Because all the young people involved believe in the message or themes that they are portraying, they put their hearts and souls into their performances and they themselves feel their own message deeply. There is no doubt that these themes do affect the audiences and public because it is our young people who are expressing their thoughts in a way that is meaningful to them; through dance and music.
Kaila! What are the ticket prices to watch the shows?
Loretta: $15 flat per person for one night non-stop, back to back performances with sound, light and performances that will take your breath away.
