BUSINESS houses joined hands with the nation yesterday morning to support Fiji's Biggest Morning Tea at the Bank of Baroda.
The noble occasion saw businessmen from around Suva giving money in support of the fight against cancer.
Bank of Baroda chief executive Pabitra Kumar Das said they had taken the initiative as part of their pledge to reach out to the community in Fiji.
Mr Das said cancer patients were in need of support and people should stand together and fight against the deadly disease.
"We are happy to be part of this noble cause," he said.
The Fiji's Biggest Morning Tea, was launched in 2009 to assist cancer patients in the country.
The sponsors of the event — the Motibhai Group of Companies — joined hands with the Fiji Cancer Society in 2006 to help raise funds to improve the level of awareness in the country.
Fiji Cancer Society is in the process of establishing an outreach program which will ensure that venues are at convenient locations to provide screening.
