FIJI should expect a support centre for children with cancer and their families in Suva next week.
Walk On Walk Strong campaign founder Sina Kami said they had a place at the Hilton Crippled School along Brown St that would be in operation from tomorrow. She said they would also begin with the support fund for children with cancer and their families.
"Both projects have committees including doctors and reps from the public to represent all those who donate for the cause," Mrs Kami said.
She said there would be a monthly update to all donors, corporate entities and to the public as part of their transparency policy on how the funds had been used.
WOWS committee has allocated an initial $40,000 to establish the centre.
Committee chairman Matt Wilson said they had negotiated with the Fiji Crippled Children's Society to use part of their premises at the Hilton Centre.
The committee also delivered four wheel chairs to the Colonial War Memorial Hospital (CWMH) Paediatric Oncology Ward and two to the Lautoka Hospital.
He said they had also ordered ten convertible couches for the Oncology Ward at the CWMH.
