THE High Court in Lautoka has jailed a 23-year-old man for six years after finding him guilty of stealing more than $6300 worth of items from a club in 2010.
Jone Naisara was convicted of being part of an armed group that broke into the Lautoka Club, tied and gagged a security guard and then walked off with $6399.20 worth of items including liquor.
Naisara was charged with aggravated robbery for the offence. The men gained entry into the club and took $4277.80 in cash from a safe, 54 recharge cards valued at $270, liquor valued at $1417.70, snacks worth $129.30, cigarettes valued at $186.40 and three poker boards.
Naisara was arrested after a search recovered $700 worth of items from the robbery.
He was jailed for six years without any parole period.
