A PROJECT to facilitate private sector participation in the promotion of energy security in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu will be further enhanced with a renewable energy forum scheduled to start in Nadi tomorrow.

The forum is being organised by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) in collaboration with the ACP Business Climate Facility (BizClim).

The project is part of SPC's energy program to respond to the Pacific Forum Leaders direction for the Pacific to commit to a renewable energy and energy-efficient future based on achievable, practical and voluntary targets.

The two-day meet is expected to bring together representatives of donors, investment banks, potential private investors, energy and investment government officials from PNG, Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands as well as other interested parties from the Pacific, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.
