'Expect more rain'

PEOPLE should keep their umbrellas and raincoats handy as showers of rain are expected to continually affect most parts of Fiji this week, according to the Fiji Meteorological Office.

"A weakening trough of low pressure with associated cloud and showers remains slow moving over the southern parts of the group and is expected to affect most parts of Fiji, starting from yesterday," the weatherman said.

"This will bring in cloudy periods of some showers over most places with moderate southeast winds and moderate to rough seas."

The weather office has predicted some showers over the eastern parts and interior of the larger islands. Cloudy periods with some showers are expected in Navua, Suva and Nausori. The same weather is predicted for Nadi, Lautoka and Ba. Weather in the north is expected to be fine this week. Labasa and Savusavu should expect some afternoon and evening showers on occasions.
