Bula everyone! his August marks Westpac's 111th anniversary of operating in Fiji. We are Fiji's oldest serving bank and are proud of the unique position this longeitivity gives us.
To mark this celebration, we have launched a new tagline "Banking for generations", signifying the honour the Westpac team has had to be part of people's lives here in Fiji.
Every day my team and I come in contact with people who have goals, from buying a home for their families, starting a savings plan, growing their business, obtaining finance so that their children have a good education, to selling their goods in the global market.
At Westpac, it is our aim to help you achieve your financial goals and in doing so assist you make a better life for yourself, your family and your community. We have a dedicated and passionate team that is ready to serve you.
In the short time I have been here, I have been fortunate to be able to have met many of our customers across Fiji. They all tell me of the fond memories they have of Westpac and how Westpac has been their bank for generations. The loyalty to Westpac is something truly amazing! So, in this brand campaign, we wanted to highlight our customers and showcase their loyalty to Westpac.
One of these customers is our oldest customer, Mr Durga Prasad. Mr Prasad is 103 years old and is happy to continue his loyalty to Westpac despite having a nephew and a granddaughter who work separately at competitor banks. He still remembers meeting his first bank manager who approved his loan in the 1960s - a memory that lies at the heart of his allegiance to Westpac.
Another customer featured in the campaign is Francis Koong who owns the local Ricoh reseller. She remembers school banking from when she was in primary school, depositing small amounts for 'a rainy day', a value her parents taught her. She has been a Westpac customer now for 40 years and her parents banked with us as well.
