THE rising price of different brands of the same items available in stores were one of the few issues brought up by concerned consumers in Rakiraki.

More than 50 people turned up at a Consumer Council of Fiji mobile unit that visited the area recently.

"The council advised the consumers to do comparative shopping for items not under price control to get the best value for their money," said Dorine Narayan, Consumer Council of Fiji media manager. "Comparative shopping also helps consumers to save few dollars that can be utilised in something else."

She said the visit to Rakiraki was fruitful because of the positive turnout.
