New manual for auditors

A NEW financial auditing manual will arm auditors with the knowledge and techniques to analyse the economy of an organisation's administrative activities and its known quality.

The manual, launched by Auckland-based Pacific Association of Supreme Audit Institutions, will also help administrative and management practices and policies.

The organisation, headed by Fiji's former auditor general Eroni Vatuloka, is expected to audit the efficiency of the use of human, financial and other resources, the association said in a statement.

Fiji is a member of the association but will not fully utilise the manual as Fiji had developed a slightly more advanced guidebook, the office of the Auditor General said yesterday.

Meanwhile, the PASAI manual will judge the effectiveness of the organisation in its efforts to achieve its identified objectives.
