A MAN who pleaded guilty to assaulting his wife has been handed a suspended sentence by the Suva Magistrates Court.
Eliki Ravula, 28, appeared before Magistrate Yohan Liyanage yesterday.
The court heard that on April 13, the accused asked his wife who she was calling on her mobile phone but as she tried to explain herself, he punched her several times in the face.
Ravula earlier waived his right to counsel and agreed with the summary of facts that was read out by police prosecutor Corporal Narsa Reddy.
