NEW members of Club 25 in Vanua Levu have started donating blood to help save lives.

Club 25, an initiative that started in the north last month has attracted keen youngsters from secondary schools around Macuata.

The response from new members has been overwhelming, says Health Ministry spokesman Peni Namotu.

"The initiative is aimed at encouraging youths to donate blood and the north is really fortunate that a lot of schools are engaging themselves in this worthy drive," he said.

Divisional medical officer northern Doctor Pablo Romakin earlier said more than 10 schools in Vanua Levu had registered to be part of the drive this year.
