Update: 3:09PM THE High Court in Suva has convicted former prime minister Laisenia Qarase on nine counts of abuse-related charges.
Judge Justice Priyantha Fernando delivered his short judgment in a packed courtroom a short while ago.
Defence and prosecution will make their mitigation and sentencing submission tomorrow.
Qarase is charged with six counts of abuse of office and three counts of discharging his duty with respect to property in which he had a private interest.
