FIJI'S High Commission in London is continuing to receive contributions from groups and individuals towards the PM's Flood Appeal Drive.
According to a government statement, four groups visited the Chancery recently to present contributions totalling 2150 pounds ($6045).
The High Commissioner thanked them for their financial support which would be used to alleviate the suffering and loss of those made homeless by the floods. The Fiji Cultural Club presented a cheque of £500, members of the club later presented another cheque collected during a dinner they organised which was attended by more than 100 people.
Members of the Shepherd's Bush Christian Church also presented a cheque along with the Tukadra family of Newport, Wales. The Tukadra family is originally from Ba and migrated first to New Zealand and then the UK in the 1960s.
The High Commission has transferred £95,098 ($F266,441) to Fiji as remittance by Fiji nationals in the British Army for the month of June.
