FIJI FACT winners, Suva is hoping to bounce back after a disappointing 0-1 loss to Nadi in the Inkk Mobile Battle of the Giants (BOG) opener at Subrail Park in Labasa yesterday.
The side played well but failed to secure the crucial points making their BOG campaign tougher as the tournament moves to Lautoka's Churchill Park this week.
Coach Gurjit Singh said they were unfortunate to lose but remained upbeat the side would bounce back in their remaining matches against Navua and Lautoka.
Singh said the match was tough and they were aiming for a draw to make a good start to their campaign.
He said the team needed to work on their mistakes and come out hard in their remaining games.
"It was bad to lose the three points, a draw would have been good enough. Just the laxity in the last minute and blunder by our defenders cost us that goal," Singh said.
"We wanted to settle with the draw because it would be good enough for us to qualify for the semis but we still got two more matches left and anything can happen."
Nadi coach Kamal Swamy said his team played with the game plan resulting in the lone goal.
"It's a positive start for us. We asked them to pressure Suva unless and until they get tired," the national assistant coach said.
