THREE teams have already cemented their place in the semi-finals of the Digicel Cup competition.
Tebara Bus Tailevu, the only unbeaten team, booked a home semi-final berth with another victory over Tavua 29-6 at Garvey Park on Saturday.
Naitasiri and Nadroga are the other teams to confirm their spots in the top four while Lautoka and Suva will fight for the last semi-final placing.
Naitasiri defeated Macuata 52-15 while Nadroga ran in 10 tries to hammer Ovalau 71-3.
Meanwhile, Tavua rugby coach Jonetani Savuti admitted his side lost to a better team. He said the huge Tailevu forward pack was the difference.
"Tailevu is a very good team. They have some very big players and their forward pack is one of the strongest in the competition," Savuti said.
However, he warned that the green machine needed to lift its performance in the backline.
"I believe their forwards set the platform for them but only their backline needs working on if they want to improve," he said.
Tavua led Tailevu 6-5 after the first 40 minutes of the game. But lack of concentration was costly for the home team as Tailevu bounced back into the game.
"It was a good game, we managed to hold them in the first 40 minutes but we gave a lot of possession away in the second half and they got us off our feet," Savuti said.
Tavua remains at 11th position on the points table and meets Macuata next week to round off the season.
