VUDE queen Laisa Vulakoro will set the Garden Island of Taveuni on fire tonight with her Walk on Walk Strong (WOWS) Shave or Save (SOS) concert for cancer patients.

Vulakoro is among celebrities who will shave their hair as part of the cancer campaign.

Her concert has been organised by Coconut Grove in Taveuni and will be held at the Garden Island Resort. Also sponsoring her tour is Kaibu/Vatuvara Limited.

Vulakoro said it was important that people in the islands learnt about the illness and the WOWS SOS campaign.

"I deeply feel this message needs to be taken across, everyone plays a huge role in making sure cancer patients treat their sickness at an early stage," she said.

She said it was not about raising money but making sure the message reached the people.

Vulakoro hopes to raise $50,000 with the help of Holiday Inn in their Walk on Walk Strong.

WOWS committee chairman Dom Sansom said Vulakoro's initiative would enable the people of Taveuni to join for this worthy cause. Vulakoro, who is also a cancer survivor, said the pain suffered by cancer patients was unbearable and they needed all the support they could get.
