THE Musket Cove Island Resort will host the 29th edition of the Fiji Regatta Week in September.

Dubbed as the "Grand Daddy" of all the South Pacific events, the Fiji Regatta Week has continued to attract scores of boat types and sizes from around the globe.

MCIR sales and marketing manager Kini Saukuru said luxury yachts, simple yachts, racing yachts and cruising yachts would once again converge and drop anchor at their tranquil bay.

She said Fiji Regatta Week was the biggest and most anticipated auxiliary sailboat regatta in the region.

Saukuru said the event had grown from strength to strength over the years since its inception in 1980.

"This will be our 29th year of hosting the event," Saukuru said.

"It will be held from the September 14-20. Our team has been busy once again working behind the scenes to organise the program. We are looking forward to another "Week of the Year".
