REALISING there was a need for equipment to aid in service delivery, road-makers Prataps Asphalt Quarries Limited gave three new four-wheel-drive vehicles to the Fiji Police Force in Nadi.
Receiving the vehicles on behalf of the government, the Republic of Fiji Military Forces land force commander Colonel Mosese Tikoitoga lauded the initiative and labelled managing director Suresh Pratap - a 'man with a big heart.'
"The donation Mr Pratap has given today indicates the big heart and courage he has. As a former British Prime Minister Benjamin Disraeli said 'you can only give what you have', I urge you the business people of Nadi to reflect upon that saying.
"The government can only give what it has, and if it does not have the resources, then if you have it, then perhaps you can give the little you have," he said.
Prataps Asphalt has been in business since 1941 and previously participated in community service programs and generously made contributions for various causes in the past.
The company has also participated in major developments in the country such as the upgrading of the Nadi International Airport runways, the pavement of the newly built Fiji National University Campus in Namaka and the construction of the Nadi Link by-pass Road.
