FIJI'S High Commission in Pretoria, South Africa is hoping to assist the African continent bring their best for the World Super Model competition to be held at the Pearl Resort, Pacific Harbour, in November.

Beniamino Salacakau, Fiji's High Commissioner to Pretoria said in a statement that they had been meeting to plan and assist the South African effort to come to Fiji.

This will be the second year the pageant will be held in Fiji.

South Africa did not take part last year and Mr Salacakau said this would be an opportunity to get some publicity on Fiji in South Africa.

He said through their joint effort the casting for the models to represent South Africa would take place all over South Africa in the major cities.

He said the planned casting would involve thousands of model hopefuls from across the length and breadth of the country.

"However being a fashion conscious country with a wide cross section of people and interest as well as an international reputation for producing top models they are coming in all seriousness," Mr Salacakau said.

He said as Fiji was still relatively unknown in South Africa, the high commission would grab the opportunity for publicity.
