Rosa resigns

FIJI Volleyball Federation general secretary Rosa Dalituicama has resigned from the federation to take up a three-year posting at the soon to be opened Fiji Embassy in Korea. Dalituicama, a former Kulawai rep will leave the country next Monday. She was part of the Fiji Kulawai team that reached the third round of world qualifiers in 2008.

Team to beat

GAUNAVOU remains the team to beat in the Savusavu zone of the Cakaudrove Rugby Union. As they approach the third round, game committee member Pita Ralaca said they were optimistic of a successful season. "Gaunavou is the team to beat, they won last year and again they have showed in the past two rounds that they are the inform team," Ralaca said.

Title defence

SERUA rugby champion Navulivatu is ready to defend the Vunivalu trophy for the third time this season. This time, the new club will face an uphill battle from former champions — an unpredictable team in the Serua Rugby Union club competition. Navulivatu have defended their title twice after wresting the trophy away from its holder Waidradra in their first ever challenge. The game kicks-off at 2.30pm at Navua's Thomson Park today.

FANCA tourney

THE Fiji Muslim Sports Association is upbeat in naming a strong national team to feature at the FANCA tournament this year. As tournament hosts, FMSA Super Eight organising committee member Iliaz Khan said they wanted district reps to feature at the Super Eight tournament this weekend whereby they would select four teams.
