RAIL infrastructure and equipment will be improved.

Prime Minister and Minister for Sugar Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama assured cane growers in the Western Division that government would assist in getting rail systems fully operational as soon as possible.

"For far too long our rail systems have been allowed to be run down to a sorry state and this was worsened by the recent floods," he said.

"As you can see, we have begun work in fixing this area. The Navo rail bridge was repaired in record time and the Naviyago bridge should be operational by the first week of August."
