THE $170,000 extreme makeover of Delana Primary School in Lautoka has been completed and among those celebrating the transformation was Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama.
Commodore Bainimarama is a former pupil of the primary school, formerly known as Lautoka Fijian School.
School manager Netani Drewai said the Tuesday night event was to thank the Prime Minister for his help.
Mr Drewai said the refurbishment works took two months to complete.
"The transformation started from the management, teachers and all the school properties," he said.
"We are so thankful to the PM for his assistance in making this transformation a success."
Mr Drewai said the repair works were carried out by military officers while the former scholars provided a photocopy machine and new desks and chairs.
He said the changes had also inspired the students.
Commodore Bainimarama thanked the management for their hard work in overseeing the successful and quick completion of the project.
