THE phrase 'practice makes perfect' came true for a group of friends who are making their debut in the FINTEL Suva Darts League.

With little experience in the game of dart, the friends have made good use of valuable lessons offered by opposing teams during practice sessions every Thursday at Defence Club.

Playing under the banner of Flour Mills of Fiji, the hours of training was put to good use after the side caused the biggest upset of the 2012 season after beating champion Suva team, Team Finance Pacific 6-5.

Going down to the wire at 5-all, FMF anchor and captain Dipesh Kumar had the task of facing Team Finance Pacific's kingpin and Suva darts singles champion Suresh Chand in the deciding singles match.

Not to be discouraged by the presence of Chand, Kumar held his nerve to clinch the winner.

Team Finance Pacific, which was crowned Round One champion, suffered remains top of the table after game five of Round Two with FINTEL, Wilderness Merchants Club and Traps the chasing pack.

FMF will be looking to repeat their performance against an evergreen Wilderness Merchants Club tomorrow.

Another side showing fine form is the Bella Whippy-led Basic Darts. With a mixture of youth and experience, the side toppled second placed ANZ 6-5.

Second year RG Direct also made a statement after beating Radial on the same scoreline.

FINTEL showed their strength after beating Defence Club 8-3 and Basic Darts 10-1 while Traps accounted for TFL 7-4.

Round Two game six fixtures will be held tomorrow:

Defence Club-Traps, Team Finance-RG Direct, FMF-Wilderness Merchants, FINTEL-Radial, Basic Darts-TFL. Bye ANZ
