LEADING UK specialist news, convenience and bookseller WHSmith has entered into a franchise agreement in Fiji with The Tappoo Group.
With more than 1100 stores both in the UK and across the world, including Australia, India and the Middle East, WHSmith is a staple at shopping malls and travel locations like airports and railway stations, offering a wide range of newspapers, magazines, books, confectionery and drinks for travellers, a statement from the Tappoo Group said.
"The Tappoo Group will soon be introducing the WHSmith brand into resort corners and some of the destination stores it operates, with the first store opening later this year at the iconic TappooCity which is Fiji's premier shopping, food, fun and entertainment destination and a pride of the Pacific.
"WHSmith concept store will also be ideally suited for the Nadi and Nausori airports where Tappoo has a strong retail presence," the statement said.
"We are delighted to be working with The Tappoo Group in Fiji to bring WHSmith's dedicated news, magazine, books and convenience offer to shoppers and tourists in key travel locations across the islands," WHSmith Travel chief operating officer, Simon Smith said.
