PUTTING the names of their religion aside to help create a greener environment, members of the Vunivau Paras Point Youth Club in Labasa took time out to clean their community over the weekend.
Club patron TJ Loloma said the activity was also aimed at uniting the youths in the area despite their races and religion.
"We all come from different races and backgrounds and some of us work while others stay home," Mr Loloma said.
"This is the first-ever activity we have organised this year as we are try to create a litter-free society.
"Even though there are only a few of us in the group, members of the community are really thankful to us for cleaning up their compounds."
Mr Loloma said the club also planned to work on major projects to help the community.
"Projects like bus shelters and facilitating the community kindergarten with furniture are in our agenda and we hope to receive funding assistance from people to help us start our work.
