A SIXTY-ONE-YEAR-OLD woman is admitted at the Savusavu Hospital after being allegedly hit by another woman over the weekend.
This was confirmed by police spokesman Inspector Atunaisa Sokomuri who said the accused whacked the victim with an iron rod inside her home on Saturday.
"The accused used the rod to hit the victim several times until she fainted," Insp Sokomuri said.
"She (victim) received serious injuries and was later taken to hospital by some relatives."
The incident has sparked warnings from police for people not to take the law into their own hands because it would only result in them being liable for their own actions.
"We are reiterating the need for people to follow the proper channel of lodging reports or complaints and not take the law into their own hands because they will be liable for their actions if they don't listen."
Insp Sokomuri said investigations were continuing.
