A change in the weather over the weekend saw the Prasad family of Narere deciding to head to Suva Point for an impromptu picnic.

Dinesh Prasad looked out the window yesterday morning and thought the sunshine would hold out long enough for his family's romp at the beach.

Mr Prasad, his wife and children, his brother-in-laws family and his niece and her fiancé from New Zealand arrived at Suva Point at about 12midday.

Mr Prasad said he liked coming to Suva Point because there was a park where his children, two of whom were in primary school, could play.

"The weather's been unpredictable this weekend but I looked out the window today (yesterday) and I though it was going to be sunny.

"We decided to come to the beach. We've got some chicken palau, juice and some pizza for the family," Mr Prasad said.
