SARU Dragons walloped Naviyago Sharks 54-0 to maintain their unbeaten run in the Fiji National Rugby League Vodafone Cup Lautoka zone competition.
The KBL-sponsored Dragons put on a sublime performance to record the highest winning margin for the season at Churchill Park on Friday. The Dragon, with the inclusion of Fiji Bati reps Timoci Yavoli and Josefa Waibune, dominated the fixture with their structured play. Fiji National Rugby League development officer Lagilagi Golea said the Sharks were sloppy in defence.
He said the Dragons were quick on the counter attack.
"The Dragons are in top form," the former Fiji Bati rep said.
"At the end it was really a one-sided affair. The Dragons simply had too much class for the Sharks and won easily. Last week the Dragons defeated the Lautoka Warriors 34-0. The Dragons are the only unbeaten side in the competition."
In another fixture, the West Tigers downed Islands Electric Lautoka Crushers 22-8. Golea said the second round would resume next week. He said four rounds would be played before the qualifiers.
"The Dragons like last year have dominated the competition so far," Golea said.
"The side has a wealth of experience and their fitness level is high as well."
In the reserve grade, Saru Red beat West Tigers 14-0 while Saru White downed Lautoka Crushers 26-0.
