PEOPLE of Ba have been encouraged to take part in the voter registration exercise that started earlier this week.
Ba Provincial Council chairman Ratu Meli Saukuru said there were more than 30,000 voters in the province and encouraged them to register their names at the nearest centres.
He said registration would allow for voting in the 2014 general election. The electronic voter registration began on Tuesday.
Ratu Meli said it was important for those eligible to vote in 2014 to register to have a say in the make-up of the new government.
"This EVR is a very important exercise and the council is urging all the people of Ba who are 18 years and over to register," he said.
"District reps and village headmen have been advised to talk to the villagers and to encourage them to be part of this exercise."
