A new specialised pearl jewellery retailer has opened for business in Nadi.

The shop is the first of its kind to be opened in Nadi and in the Western Division

"I knew that this was market that wasn't yet looked into in Nadi so I decided to open a shop here in Nadi Town," said Blue Lagoon Pearls of Fiji Ltd operations director Raymond Krishna.

Mr Krishna said the shop was a long time dream of his.

"I've always wanted to set up a pearl shop that would cater for the local market and people. The jewellery we sell are cheap and sold at an affordable price. Our prices start from $250 which is a very cheap price when it comes to pearl jewellery.

"But most importantly they're quality pearls," said Mr Krishna.

He said the pearls were not sourced locally.

"The pearls that we sell are not only from Fiji but they're from across the South Pacific. So we basically get the best quality pearls from all these places."

Mr Krishna said the finishing touches to the pearl jewellery were done by professional staff members.

"The finishing touches is always very important and this is done by our staff who are specifically trained for that."

Mr Krishna said apart from catering for the local market, they also serviced tourists.

"We have exclusive rights to sell our pearl jewellery to any visitor coming into the country for the purpose of coming for a vacation or to enjoy Fiji's renowned resorts and hotels," he said.

The shop's wide range of jewellery includes pendants, necklaces, ear rings and rings.
