Zone semis
CENTRAL College will face Ratu Navula in the West Zone Two Under-18 rugby semi-final in Nadi this Saturday.
This is after Central College went down to arch rivals Natabua High School last Saturday. Natabua won the fixture 12-9. No tries were scored in the match.
Fiji Secondary Schools Western Rugby Union vice president Lionel Danford said Natabua High School would face Ba Provincial in their semi-final clash. He said the West Zone Two semi-finals would be hosted by Ratu Navula.
Flag bearer
YOUNG Suva golfer Jia Yi Yao will fly Fiji's flag during two junior tournaments in the United States of America.
Yao will feature in the Callaway Junior World Golf Championships from July 7-13 in San Diego and then play in the World Masters Junior Golf Championship from July 15-19 in Las Vegas.
Yao will be outfitted with Srixon Cleveland accessories. He is the second player from Fiji after Tristan Levestam to feature in the two events.
The National Golf Association is also looking to send two players to Australia to participate in the Greg Norman Junior Masters Championship in December.
Blues meeting
THE Lautoka Football Association has called an emergency executive meeting to discuss the Blues shock 2-0 loss to Nadi in the Fiji Sun/GP Batteries National Football League last Friday.
This was Lautoka's second loss to Nadi after going down 1-0 in the round one fixture.
LFA president Shalendra Prasad described the Blues performance as one of worst despite playing with a one man advantage after Nadi striker Ratu Veresa Toma was sent off in the first half.
He said fitness was an area of concern. "The result is a wake-up call ahead of the Battle of the Giants which we will be hosting later this month," Prasad said.
Talebula stars
METUISELA Talebula booted his Natabua club to victory over Namoli in opening match of the Lautoka Rugby Union round two club competition at the Nadovu ground on Saturday.
Natabua defeated Namoli 15-5 in the feature match. Metuisela starred in the encounter after coming off the bench in the first half.
He scored all the points for his side nailing five penalties. Meanwhile Vuda Green will take on Army in the round one premier division final.
In the semi final Vuda Green beat Vuda Blues while Vitogo went down to Army. The Vuda Green versus Army clash will serve as a curtain raiser to the Lautoka and Tavua Digicel Cup fixture this Saturday.
