KOREAN Duck Hee Lee ended Australian Thomas John Fancutt's dream run in the Air Pacific Open Tennis Championship by taking out the boy's singles title in Lautoka on Saturday.

The unranked Fancutt who had earlier downed top seed L-Lun Lee and fifth seeded Lawrence Bataljin on his way to the final was outclassed by Duck.

The Korean won the final in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

In the girls singles final second seed Danielle Feneridis defeated sixth seed Claudia Williams in a tie breaker. She won 6-1, 7-6 (5).

Tournament referee Patrick O'Rourke said the event was a success.

He said the all finals were completed unlike last year when heavy rain caused a washout.

"The Korean boy Duck proved too strong for the Aussie lad," O'Rourke said.

"Duck moved well throughout the court. His cross court angled shots were superb. He moved Fancutt around the court forcing him to make errors."

"The girl's final was close especially in the second which was decided after a tie breaker. On the whole we saw some high standard of tennis."

"There were many world ranked players in the tournament. It is always good to bring these top players here to give the locals exposure. The tournament will most probably return to Fiji as they have already applied to host the first half of the regional junior tournaments next year."

Tarani Kamoe was the only local player to reach the quarter-final in the tournament.
