Vodafone Fiji turns 18 on July 1st. Like any teenager we are eager, free, mobile, enthusiastic and hungry as ever. Despite our youth, we are proud of our achievement and contribution in Fiji.
I take this opportunity to thank all our valued customers for their continued loyalty to Vodafone and for making us Fiji's # 1 mobile network. After 18 years, we continue to expand our network coverage to meet unprecedented product and service demands in the telecommunication industry. Eighteen years on we have had our fair share of critics. However, we have taken on board these feedbacks as learnings and opportunities for continuous improvement to evolve and transform ourselves to be a more responsive and responsible company.
Today, I can say with pride and confidence that Vodafone is one of the leading companies in Fiji. In the mobile telecommunications market, we are clearly the leaders and the network of choice for over 700,000 mobile subscribers. This shows the continued faith and confidence people place in us and our joint ability to deliver the best.
The success of the company has allowed us to continue roll out our 3G network to more rural areas over the last 12 months and opening up new shops and service centers to better serve our clients while assessing and meeting market needs.
Expansion is part of our continued success and will benefit our clients by increasing and improving footprint and accessibility. I am equally proud of my staff at Vodafone who are simply a great bunch of fun loving people with technical skills with enabling processes who just love the technology game to give our customers an awesome experience.
Eighteen years ago, we launched our business in Fiji with a few base stations and just over 1000 customers. Vodafone has now become the default ICT solution provider for most people and businesses alike. Our product and services has grown substantially to support the complex corporate challenges of voice, data and now ICT solutions. Along with the products, the voice plans on our post pay and prepay services the business has also expanded to include data management and development. The products and services have evolved to accommodate the growing number of data usage and emphasize on cost savings and efficient mobile solutions.
As a token of our appreciation, we have in store many great specials and surprises for the month of July which will make our 18th birthday celebration a memorable one for one and all.
