A 59-YEAR-OLD Seaqaqa farmer is dead after being allegedly murdered yesterday.
And a 29-year-old man is being questioned by police over the man's death.
Police media officer north Constable Luke Rawalai said: "The man is being questioned over the allegation that happened in Labasa town early yesterday morning."
"At this stage we are trying to determine what actually happened," Mr Rawalai said.
"We have interviewed a few witnesses and we now have a suspect in our custody being questioned over the death."
He said the victim was allegedly hit from the back, causing him to fall on the pavement. He said the body was kept at the Labasa mortuary awaiting a post mortem examination while police investigation continues.
