HAVING to market world leading products with internationally attained standards in Fiji, it's no wonder Hydroflow Distributors Limited managing director, Craig Strong joined the Fiji-New Zealand Business Council shortly after establishing business two years ago.

Aside from the fact that Mr Strong's father is a New Zealander and mother, Adi Vasiti Ro Qerea Strong hails from Tailevu - his company Hydroflow Distributors imports almost 100 percent of what they market in Fiji, from NZ.

Mr Strong returned to Fiji after education at Kings College Auckland. He attended Massey University in Palmerston North and graduating with a Bachelor of Business Studies majoring in Marketing and Business Law.

He was born and raised in Suva and is married with six children. Mr Strong represents a number of qualified Fiji islanders who chose to return home and serve the nation by working in business to grow the economy.

"Hydroflow Distributors provides world leading reticulation products for the plumbing, rural, irrigation, mining, fire prevention, HVAC and civil pipeline market segments for Fiji and the South Pacific," he said. "Hydroflow distributes product that has attained international standards and approvals certification. This helps to ensure that the people of Fiji of the consistent supply of quality products supported by manufacturer guarantees". We joined the council to assist in its objectives and for us to do what we can do to strengthen our trade through engagement. We import almost 100 per cent of what we market in Fiji and the Pacific region from New Zealand. Therefore the trading relationship between our two countries is critical to our sustainable growth. The council has a solid history and has been extremely well supported and administered, it is a great platform to work together, and learn from other organisations who practice bilateral trade between Fiji and NZ".

With a warehouse and office in Rawai, Hydroflow has had a long association with Fiji and the Region through their New Zealand parent company servicing this market for over 25 years. Hydroflow Fiji is proudly staffed by a team of seven Fiji citizens.

"Because we only distribute products that have attained international standards the council is an important forum for us to engage in dialogue with government agencies, engineers and contractors on compliance and technical issues," he said.
