FMF Foods Ltd is looking at growing its presence in the Pacific Islands region.

While it is already exporting to 20 countries in the region, company group export manager, Jason Chandra said their participation at Trade Pasifika 2012 was to look at new opportunities but more importantly renewing their brand.

Biscuit and flour are the company's largest exports, with biscuit exports totalling some $17million annually and growing.

Mr Chandra said Samoa, Vanuatu and Tonga were their biggest export markets while there were some growth in Papua New Guinea and other Pacific Island nations.

But the local market was the foundation of the company's export business.

"We believe its our strong focus on our local customers that has enabled us to be one of Fiji's leading companies," Mr Chandra said.

Mr Chandra added the success of the company's export business was because of its adherence to quality systems.

"Our footing in the local market has enabled us to look at market development.

"Customers should expect new products in the future," he said.

FMF Foods Ltd, subsidiary At Pack is also exporting cartons and corrugated boxes to Tonga, Samoa, American Samoa, Tahiti and New Caledonia.

Mr Chandra said expos such as Trade Pasifika were an enabler for new markets.
