About FMBA

FMBA was formed back in 1961 to give a voice to Reputable Building Contractors regarding the many issues relating to the Construction Industry.

FMBA has worked very closely with all consultants and Institutions over the years. FMBA has a very high standard of ethics that are adhered to by all our members. FMBA is an original member of the CIC (Construction Industry Council) and as such is the only body that represents builders, subcontractors and suppliers in the country.

The members of FMBA meet every month for lunch in Suva and in the west to discuss all matters relating to construction. They have an independent Secretary who each month sends minutes of meetings and any relevant information from comments on tenders and on construction news in general. All applications to join the Association are carefully surveyed before being invited to join. Their goal for the future is to grow the membership Fiji wide and to promote and encourage the rest.

The FMBA vision is to secure the recognition of the Association as the official representative of the building industry in the country by all persons and authorities whose interests extend to and embrace the building and allied trades.

Its mission is to play an active role in the formation of a National Building Legislation and Builder Licensing and to create a sustainable Building Industry through quality and fair workplace practices by our members.

Its main objective is to provide professional advise and feedback to our members. FMBA is a platform for members to voice concerns and issues on the industry. They are the "voice" for building professionals in the country and work to make occupational, health & safety practices a priority with our members. FMBA ensures professionalism & integrity from their members through adherence to the Association's Code of Ethics.
