AFTER spending a significant number of years handling public relations for various organisations across the Pacific, former Tourism Fiji corporate public relations manager Mike Parker-Brown is walking in the footsteps of former Tourism Fiji chief executive officer Josefa Tuamoto and joining the Paul McCarthy Advertising Communications Group (PMACG).

In making the announcement on Tuesday, PMACG's managing director Paul McCarthy said Mr Parker-Brown's experience as a journalist and seasoned PR practitioner "provided a solid fit for company's existing and future client base".

"The development of a dedicated PR division has always been seen as key to PMACG expanding its business activity and enhancing overall service delivery in all our areas of operation," Mr McCarthy said.

"This is especially the case in the Asia-Pacific region where we are now experiencing solid business gains — having Mike on board and heading up the new division is intended to play a major role in growing our business even further," he added.

Mr Parker-Brown is no stranger to the tourism industry in the region, having worked extensively in the airline industry, wholesale tour operations local and overseas, travel agency groups, hotels, cruise lines, industry associations, recruitment companies and national tourist offices.
