ART with a difference this is what patrons can expect at the La Fete de la Musique Special Exhibition which will be held at the Sofitel Resort and Spa on Denarau Island beginning June 22.
Organiser and owner of the Tokani Art Agency Claire Diane Giraldeau urged art appreciators to witness a unique combination of visual art and music during the exhibition.
Sofitels general manager Adam Laker said his establishment was proud to host the event and provide space for art to be exhibited. Natural art is very important to the inspiration of Sofitel as to be the support of the community, so when we are able to display beautiful artwork made by Fijians within Fiji it just made perfect sense.
Hopefully, we might be able to exhibit artwork that might never get to normally be hung on a luxury hotel lobby wall.
Celebrating the first anniversary of her partnership with Sofitel, Ms Giraldeau said artists were being given a unique opportunity to showcase and sell their work at the designated space La Galerie which the resort had set aside for quarterly exhibitions.
I have met many people searching for art, especially in the tourism industry and it is very difficult for them to find what they are looking for. One of the major challenges is reliability to deliver on time the requested commissioned pieces.
Even if our artists can produce an attracting style, the problem is consistency and we want to create with our Galerie an opportunity to discover artists willing to reach higher levels with their talent and artwork.
