HARD Rock Cafe celebrated 41 years of service worldwide with a unique celebration at Denarau on Saturday night.
Adding icing to the cake, the cafe has been assured of the governments support through Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum who was the chief guest.
He said the event was a proud moment for the company, for the tourism industry and for the country as a whole. We are proud to witness this occasion and the Bainimarama government is very, very supportive of this sort of initiative.
We provide a number of incentives in the tourism sector and we will continue to do that and indeed for business in Fiji, A-G said.
General manager Ritesh Kumar said Fiji was fortunate to have a Hard Rock Cafe outlet in the country among the 147 cafes and 12 casinos in other parts of the world.
Hard Rock has played a huge role by promoting the tourism industry and will continue to give the visitors the satisfaction and best services we can possibly offer.
Since opening our doors here in Fiji in 2007, the company has progressed each year and things are looking bright, Mr Kumar said.
Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said the opening of the new casino would also benefit the cafe and other businesses in Denarau.
With the first ever casino opening its doors next year, its very fitting to know that the Hard Rock Cafe company will benefit in many ways. Hard Rock franchise is in fact owned by American Indians and the casino in Fiji will have the American Indians interests.
Its obviously quite a bit of sanity that I think we can all experience and indeed take advantage of.
Meanwhile, the company also gave $5000 to the Prime Ministers relief fund for flood affected residents.
